Empowering all students to succeed in a changing world

Family Services

Students are more likely to succeed in school when their families are thriving, and D63's Family Resource Center provides a range of services to support families. Our Marketplace provides food, school supplies, clothing, and household goods to D63 families in need, and the FRC Welcome Center offers resources and a warm and welcoming space for newcomer families: parents and students who have recently arrived in this country.

Sometimes, the simplest things, a package of diapers, warm winter clothing, extra food, can make a big difference. The Marketplace at the FRC is a food pantry and community closet where our families can access necessary resources. Open two days a week, these rooms are stocked with everything from food and clothing to school supplies, toys, and household items.

Local organizations, businesses, or individual community members generally donate items. District 63's annual We Care Campaign ensured that it was well stocked for the start of the new year. Interested in donating? Call the FRC at 847-827-4137

Welcome Center

A cozy reading nook with a sofa, bookshelves, and colorful posters.

The FRC Welcome Center offers a warm and welcoming space for newcomer families who have recently arrived in the United States. Whether it's assistance in navigating our schools and the larger community, a cup of coffee, free internet, or just a children's book in their native language, the Center can help provide support as parents and children begin their lives in this country. Contact the FRC for more information.
