Early Dismissal Day Program

During each of the nine early dismissal days in the school year, Expanded Learning offers fun programs to extend your K-8th grade child's day! We provide transportation to the Family Resource Center (FRC), childcare, a snack, and engaging activities from dismissal until 5 p.m. We plan to have special guest, go on field trips, or have fun themes on site. Below you can see the plan for this year's Early Dismissal Day programs. Registration is required for EDDs as they are additional programs to our After School Program and space is limited. Please note that there is no standard After School Program on District Early Dismissal Days. 

Time: Dismissal until 5:00 p.m. - *Pick up anytime before 5 p.m. unless other instructions are provided

  • TUES September 10 - Field Trip to the Chicago Botanic Gardens
  • WED October 9 - Field Trip to Historic Wagner Farms
  • THURS November 7 - Field Trip to Des Plaines History Center for Grades K-2, Grade 3-5 go to the Movies
  • TUES December 10 - Niles Maine District Library Visits Expanded Learning at the FRC
  • WED January 8 - Field Trip to Des Plaines History Center for Grades 3-5, Grade K-2 go to the Movies
  • THURS February 13 - Friendship Carnival at the FRC
  • TUES March 11 - Primary Grades Field Trip to the Kohl Children's Museum, Intermediate Grades Field Trip Urban Air
  • WED April 9 - Field Trip to the Grove in Glenview
  • THURS May 8 - Field Trip to the Chicago Botanic Gardens
